The proposed 1-day guided hiking tour from Parz Lake to the monastery of Goshavank will take us to the lush forests of the Dilijan National Park in the Tavush province of Armenia. Our route starts from the Parz Lake, situated on an elevation of 1350 meters. From here, we will walk into the forests of the national park. Founded in 1958, the Dilijan National Park is home to about 40 valuable tree species, including birch, oak, maple, hornbeam, oak and others. As for the fauna, while hiking the route, we'll have a chance to see foxes, deer, long-eared hedgehogs or even wildcats. The trail will eventually open up to a beautiful meadow, from where we'll descend to the village of Gosh, where the medieval monastery of Goshavank is located. A treasure of medieval Armenian architecture, the monastery is also home to one of the most beautiful Armenian khachkars - the "Needlecarved".
