Our 11-day package tour (guided) to extinct volcanoes in Armenia offers breathtaking mountainous landscapes to take unforgettable photos, clear mountain air enriched with the aroma of herbs to energize one's soul, overnight stays in tents under the starry skies to enjoy a glass of pleasant Armenian wine in a truly romantic atmosphere. During the journey, we will experience nights in tents out in the wild as well as cozy hotels and guest houses to experience local hospitality and culture, and to have the necessary rest and communication with civilization.

We will hike to the northern peak of the highest mountain in Armenia – Aragats, to enjoy the stunning view of this extinct volcano's crater where the spectacular Gegharot River begins from. Before the actual hike, we will set our camp by the Lake Kari (Stone), one of the highest lakes in Armenia situated at the elevation of 3190 meters above sea level. As part of the journey to Aragats mountain, we will also explore the nearby medieval fortress of Amberd.

Another trip to witness some mesmerizing landscapes will be the hike to Azhdahak Mountain in the Gegham Mountain Ridge. It'll bring you to an unknown planet of extinct volcanoes, some filled with crystal clear water, where life is just beginning. At the elevation of over 3200 meters, you will encounter a field of petroglyphs (rock-carvings) dating back to Neolithic Era. These petroglyphs depict various aspects of early human life. Azhdahak mountain is also home to brown bears, wolfs, foxes and hares.

In the south of Armenia, we will have the chance to see the wild bezoar goats in their natural habitat. The bezoar goat is listed as endangered species in the Red Book. To see these majestic animals, you'll have to wake up early in the morning.

At the Sevan Lake, we'll travel to the Seagulls' Island, one of the two largest nesting colonies of the Armenian gull (larus armenicus).

And in the northeast of the country, we'll visit the Dilijan National Park. Dilijan and its mountains with lush forests are often referred to as the Little Switzerland in Armenia. A great number of historical and architectural monuments are located in this area. We'll visit one of them – the medieval monastery of Goshavank, during our hike along the Parz Lake – Gosh village hiking route.

Everywhere throughout Armenia, you'll encounter hospitality, taste local foods different in each region, authentic, delicious traditional meals, fresh fruits and vegetables, homemade vodka and wine...
